The “The Night Dwells in the Day” tour is the third leg of Jozef Van Wissem’s musical journey, promoting his latest album, released in January 2024 by Incunabulum Records. By popular demand, the Dutch lute master will also perform pieces from his critically acclaimed “Nosferatu” and the new “The Fall Of The House Of Usher.”
Described by The Quietus as “probably the most famous lutenist in the world,” Van Wissem has a unique approach to his instrument. His music combines Renaissance and Baroque lute techniques with modern sounds of drones, electronics, and field recordings. Over the years, he has collaborated with notable figures like Jim Jarmusch and Tilda Swinton, creating unforgettable soundtracks for films and video games.
His music masterfully blends tradition with modernity, being both meditative and intense. The latest album, “The Night Dwells in the Day,” created during the lockdown in Warsaw, features beautiful yet dark melodies that deeply move the listener.
