“The Night Dwells in the Day” tour is the third part of Jozef Van Wissem’s musical journey to promote his latest album, released in January 2024 by Incunabulum Records. The Dutch lute master will also present iterations of his critically acclaimed “Nosferatu” and the new “The Fall Of The House Of Usher” at the request of fans.
Van Wissem, called by The Quietus “probably the world’s most famous lute player,” is an artist with a unique approach to his instrument. His music is a fusion of Renaissance and Baroque lute forms with the modern sounds of drones, electronics and field recordings. Over the years he has collaborated with the likes of Jim Jarmusch and Tilda Swinton, creating unforgettable soundtracks for films and computer games.
The artist is able to masterfully blend tradition and modernity, creating music that is both meditative and intense. His latest album, “The Night Dwells in the Day,” was created during a lockdown in Warsaw and is full of beautiful yet dark melodies.
