We would like to invite you to an extraordinary concert by the group EABS, which will take place on May 16 at the Drizzly Grizzly club in Gdansk. EABS, considered pioneers of modern jazz in Poland, will present material from their latest album “Reflections of Purple Sun.” This is not only a musical achievement, but also a tribute to the legendary figure of Polish jazz, Tomasz Stanko, and his album “Purple Sun.”
EABS, an initiative of musicians from Wroclaw, has continued to explore and redefine jazz since 2012, combining it with the urban sounds of modern music. The group gained international fame with their debut album “Repetitions (Letters to Krzysztof Komeda),” where they reinterpreted the works of Krzysztof Komeda, innovatively combining jazz with other musical genres.
The “Reflections of Purple Sun” album is an ambitious undertaking that transforms Stanko’s classic work into a completely new form. Made almost 50 years after the release of “Purple Sun,” it introduces modern elements of electronica, ambient and techno, providing a bold study on rhythm.
